LIVE AT THE SELLERSVILLE THEATER

After 475 days without playing to a live and in-person audience, Dan and the band will be playing at the Sellersville Theater on May 7th.  It's a streak we are happy to put behind us.  The Theater is taking optimal measures to ensure your safety and health. CABINS AND MOUNTAINS

I've had the opportunity to play some very interesting venues during the time I've been doing this singer-songwriter thing, and my next show is one that definitely ranks right of there at the top of the "out of the ordinary" category. An authentic Adirondack-style cabin nestled in the Watchung Mountains of central New Jersey. So if you've been considering seeing me play live, but were waiting for me to play someplace with ambiance and atmosphere, your wait is over.

This is the place.

Intimate and personal, with a boatload of character, located in Green Brook, New Jersey, and only an hour from midtown Manhattan and Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and about 90 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. In a beautiful cabin in the mountains. Anyone who has seen a show there or played a show there, has given it rave reviews. And for those in New Jersey, who've been avoiding crossing the Delaware River to get to one of my shows, I'll be on your side.

Literally.

So come on out and join me and my dear friend and talented singer songwriter Lizanne Knott who'll be playing alongside me me on this co-bill. Sunday afternoon, April 5. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon in April and still get home in time to watch Lassie, Candid Camera and the Ed Sullivan show. Yep. Just hit the link below to reserve a spot.

This is going to be one for the memory banks.

Hope to see you there.

PODCAST APPEARANCE

ROAD WARRIORS - Here is a link to my appearance as guest on the podcast "Tales of the Road Warriors," hosted by musician/interviewer Hal Aaron. It was a nice chat with Hal and we got into some detail going from my early days growing up in Northern Ohio to where I am now. And a lot in between. If you're interested in hearing how a grave digger becomes a journalist becomes an opera singer becomes a contemporary dancer becomes singer/songwriter becomes an author, then this is the podcast for you.

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER PLUG

EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT - A very nice plug for my January 5th show in Philadelphia Inquirer by music writer Nick Cristiano.

"DAN MAY - A former opera singer who beat long odds against cancer, Dan May reinvented himself in his 40's as a pop singer-songwriter. That's a story in itself, but it wouldn't be half as interesting if he weren't so good at that new job. Since his first album in 2006, the Drexel Hill resident has been turning out folk-inflected songs marked by lyrical grace, memorable hooks and exquisite craftsmanship. With a deep, resonant voice that recalls Gordon Lightfoot and Richard Thompson, May exudes warmth and wisdom, and he balances an ability to dig deep with a light touch. He plays the Locks at Sona on Saturday with pop-rock soul singer Sierra Hurtt."

SOLD OUT SHOW at The Locks

MUCHAS GRACIAS - To all of you fine folks who came out to our Sold Out show last night (Jan. 5) at The Locks. It was great to share an evening of song with you. And I appreciate your support of live music and leaving the comfort of your living room to interact with other human beings.

That's very cool.

To those of you who tried but were unable to get tickets, looking forward to seeing you at the next show. Thanks to the band, Tom Hampton, Tommy Geddes, Daniel Faga, Anthony Newett and Elise Dadourian. Always a pleasure to share the stage with you. And to Sierra Hurtt-Akselrod and her band for their wonderful set. Positive energy is contagious.

Thanks again to all.

I am indeed a lucky man.
